Within minutes of the first meeting with our client, it became clear that he had been dreaming of creating a fabulous home entertainment space for many years. He envisaged a space where his family and friends could watch movies, the latest Netflix box set, the big game or even host PlayStation marathons! The room had to sound epic, the picture quality had to be amazing and the final room finish had to be sumptuous! Oh, and a bar had to be incorporated too! After visiting our home cinema showroom in Harrogate, our client instructed Acoustic Pixel to create his dream room!

- CREATING THE ROOM

The Acoustic Pixel team work tirelessly to create the perfect room.  Consequently we can achieve extraordinary results!
 
Our client, a professional footballer, had a wish to incorporate his match worn shirts and medals into the room design. Therefore, our  Home Cinema Designers worked diligently to create and a bespoke fabric room solution. It provided the perfect solution to house memorabilia and the incredible Klipsch 7.2.4 sound system!
 
With the design complete our  home cinema installation team stripped out all the existing cabinets and constructed the wall framing to meet the exacting brief.  The image shows the level of detail required to create a bespoke cinema room.

- BESPOKE LIGHTING

We created detailed niches to house match worn shirts, trophies and the surround speakers before the room was dressed in a sumptuous fabric. Combined with effective spotlight and LED strip lighting, we installed a stunning 3m x 3m Starscape Ceiling to create an enchanting atmosphere in which to unwind and relax. The lighting featured the Lutron RA2 select range, integrated with the Savant S2 Host control system and touchscreen remote to provide an elegant, intuitive and powerful user experience.

- PROJECTOR AND SCREEN

We installed a 3.3m wide (2.35:1), acoustically transparent Ultimate screen from Cinema Build Systems, to complement the beautiful fabric walls and starlight ceiling. 
The design team considered installing a masking solution but we decided that the budget could be better spent in other areas. However, we ensured that provisions were made should the client want to add this feature in the future.
 
Some of this budget was used to upgrade the projector to the native 4K, JVC N5. The  JVC N5 delivered an exceptional image that a room of this size demanded. Watching ultra HD content on the 3.3m screen is an absolute joy! 
 
A swivelling, pull out rack from Middle Atlantic was installed

to keep the front wall clean and non distracting. The rack is seamlessly hidden away within the fabric wall but the electronic equipment is still easily accessible. A lovely feature that makes servicing the system simple.

- KLIPSCH 7.2.4 speaker system

With a room size of 7m x 7m, our home cinema designers selected the Klipsch THX Ultra 2 certified LCR, surrounds and subwoofer/power amp, to deliver a space filling 7.2.4 system. We believe that the sound system is the star attraction in a cinema room. It certainly is in this room!

The front wall was home to 3 x Klipsch KL-650 THX certified bookshelf speakers and 2 x Klipsch TW-120-THX sub woofers. This speaker set up was supplemented by 4 in wall Klipsch THX 8000 surround speakers and 4 height speakers – the in-ceiling Klipsch PRO 180 reference premiere. 

The Klipsch audio system was powered by an Anthem MRX 1120 which the client had experienced in our showroom. Acoustic treatment was placed at the first reflection points and in other locations around the room to counteract some of the hard surfaces in the bar area and the glass in the picture frames.

He went one step further when we visited to hand over a gift hamper, when he proclaimed it “the best room he had ever been in!” Not just the best media room or cinema room – the best room!
 
Our team demonstrated a great attention to detail to create a room that our client is incredibly proud of. This project showcases our AV design skill and the ability of our in house engineers to skillfully construct a room that exceeded all expectations.
