Most home cinema rooms in the UK are never calibrated. The installer mounts the gear, runs the auto-setup and leaves, and the room performs at perhaps 60% of what the equipment can do. Every cinema we install is calibrated on handover.

- Calibration is the process of measuring and adjusting a cinema's audio and video after installation. It includes SMPTE-aligned video adjustment for accurate colour, contrast and geometry, and multi-point audio measurement for speaker timing, subwoofer phasing and frequency response. It's what turns good equipment into a finished cinema.
- Does calibration really make a difference?
- Yes, more than almost any single component. An uncalibrated room typically performs at around 60% of what the equipment is capable of, regardless of how expensive the gear is. Most UK installers skip it. We include it on every cinema handover and won't sign a room off without it.
