We started with one room, and one stubborn idea.

Long enough to see all of it: how a system gets specified, how an install gets booked in, how a customer sounds on the phone six months later when something stops working. Long enough to notice the same thing coming up, over and over. The problem was almost never the technology. It was the handovers. One company designs it, another fits it, and when something goes wrong you are passed to a third. Every handover is a gap, and things fall through gaps, because nobody in a gap is quite responsible.

So in 2017 Stephen started Acoustic Pixel in Harrogate, built around one idea: one team, start to finish. The room designed by the person who has to make it work, the rack built by the person who has to fit it, and the phone answered by someone who already knows your system.

A year in, Simon joined him as Technical Director. Stephen knew what the company should be; Simon knew what a room should sound like. That pairing is still the shape of the business today, and it is why the survey comes before the spec sheet.

It worked. One room led to another, home cinemas led to boardrooms, and by 2023 we needed more space than Harrogate could give us. We moved to a bigger headquarters, showroom and workshop at Mandale Park in Middlesbrough. There are eight of us now, and every job is done by our own engineers. Every rack we fit is built and tested on a bench at Mandale Park before it goes anywhere near your building, so the day we arrive is an install, not a diagnosis. And when you ring in three years' time, you will get one of the eight.
